As a data storage specialist File Centre understands that a client has an expectation of confidentiality and discretion.

We collect and securely store all information provided by our clients and employees and seek to meet all the requirements of the eight Data Protection Principles:

These are that data is:

  1. Processed fairly and lawfully
  2. Only used for limited, clear and well-explained purposes
  3. Relevant to the organisation’s needs and not excessive in detail
  4. Accurate and up to date
  5. Kept no longer than necessary
  6. Processed in accordance with the rights of the individual
  7. Stored securely to prevent unauthorised or unlawful processing, loss, destruction, damage or disclosure
  8. Not transferred to countries without adequate protection

Due to the nature of our business Confidentiality Agreements are entered into as standard.

File Centre undertake to abide by the following:

  • We will, at all times, take all reasonable measures to ensure that access to the archive is only at the written request of the client.
  • We will only collect the information we need.
  • We will review information regularly and delete information no longer needed.
  • We will make sure our IT systems and files are secure.
  • We will train all of our staff in good information-handling practices.
  • We will respond promptly and within 40 days to requests from individuals for copies of the information we hold on them.

Information may be used by File Centre to contact you with information related to our products or services, to contact you in the event of a query arising from a transaction or contractual issue or use as market research data to help us improve our products and services.

File Centre do not make information available to any other organisations or companies except with the client’s express consent.

We ensure that personal information held for the running of our business is retained for that purpose only, and when no longer relevant to the business will be destroyed in compliance with the Data Protection Act.

At no time will File Centre pass information on to third parties.
